The 1th Arab-International Forum & Exhibition For Investment & Partnerships –Development “Arab” Qatar 2010
Introduction:

All over the world, there is an increasing concern over the environment and different sectors related to Investment & Partnerships areas and the means of improving the quality of life for the coming generations.
All modern states are exerting efforts on the industrial, municipal and rural fronts to cut down on pollutants that may effect the environment.

Despite of the publicity campaigns and the banners being raised in defense of the environment, pollution issues have become majors concerns for governments and public alike. Major projects and activities are beings launched and funded to resolve such issues by both governments and private sponsors. Such activities are implementing the most advanced technical and scientific methods and innovations to tackle pollution problems and work towards preserving or re-establishing the balance in ecosystems all over the world.

In the Kingdoms of Qatar , the government has been careful to consider the needs for development and the concerns to preserving the environment. Balancing both needs is increasingly being considered as part of any plans to finance future development projects. That concept has become known as the process of total development.

As a result, the Bahrain has taken big steps towards preserving it’s natural resources, establishing rules and regulations, and coordinating efforts on all levels of government and industry in order to increase awareness on pollution issues and the continued need for wise usage of natural resources. The Kingdoms of Qatar has also been a major sponsor of regional and international efforts and organizations that are concerned in issues of preserving the environment.

The Kingdoms of Qatar has being the leading body in the Doha on the issues of the Environment, has adopted a policy of coordinating the efforts of all government and private entities for the goal of preserving the environment. This effort is extended to reach the individual citizen and resident of the Qatar in order to turn everyone into an educated individual concerned and active in the efforts of providing all with a clean and healthy working and living environment, present and upcoming generations alike.

In order to turn logos into actions, the Government has assigned a yearly prize to be awarded to any individual or organization that achieves a project or implements an idea that furthers the cause of preserving the environment. That prize is awarded during an annual ceremony by the …………………….. The criteria of this prize is to support any serious effort that increases the awareness of environmental issues in the society or achieves a successful and measurable result towards cleaning or preserving the coastal, rural, or urban areas of the Qatar .

Following the same lead, comes our initiative to organize the :

Water Africa

Water Africa - BackgroundWater Africa is a campaign by Environment Africa, launched in 2003 to tackle vital issues surrounding water in the Southern African region.
Why Water?
Without clean fresh water we cannot survive. 97% of the water in the world is undrinkable salt water and only 3% is fresh water, which we can drink. BUT almost 70% of this fresh water is already polluted, It is time to act NOW!
Water is undeniably vital to life. Without it, food production declines, human health fails, the natural environment suffers and economic development is limited. Some experts even predict that the next wars will be fought over water. We need to think of ways in which to ensure that the future generations have enough clean water for their survival.
Water Africa aims to:
· Increase awareness about the water situation in Zimbabwe and the region;· Encourage life skills and value systems that contribute to the protection of our water; · Encourage the sustainable and equitable use of water;· Invite the participation and support of individuals, associations, business and industry, institutions, educators, and government in the efficient, equitable and sustainable use of water;· Lobby for support and commitment from industry and government to be responsible for non pollution;· Demand protection of catchment areas, wetlands and river systems.
We need your help!
Water Africa invites YOU to participate in this exciting campaign in some of the following ways:
· Help raise awareness of and advocate the importance of water;· Stand up for your rights to access clean water;· Get involved in cleaning up your river systems or water ways near you;· Save water, harvest water;· Protect mountains, the wetlands and the forest which all contribute to clean flowing water;· Contribute to the campaign financially.
Please contact us if you wish to know more about the project or want to get involved in any way.
Help Us Conserve It!
